A member of one of the most enlightened families in the local hotel industry, Ferrario created the "Grand Hotel Centrale Bagni," an architectural masterpiece in pure Art Nouveau style. An iconic example was the famous glass walkway that directly connected the hotel to the Terme Dalla Rosa: an innovation that allowed guests to access thermal treatments in total privacy and comfort without ever stepping outside.

1932

A turning point occurred thanks to the vision of SAGAS, the company that managed the "crème de la crème" of Salsomaggiore hospitality at the time. To further elevate the standard of the Grand Hotel Centrale Bagni, a pioneering decision was made: the creation of an internal thermal department within the building. Thus, the first true hotel with a SPA in Salsomaggiore was born.

1950 - 2010

For decades, the Grand Hotel was not only an elite destination but the stage for Italy’s most prestigious social events. Our structure became a true symbol of Salsomaggiore, inextricably linking its name to the history of Italian culture: for over forty years, the hotel hosted the finals of the Miss Italy pageant.

2012

The historic building experienced a new era of splendor following a majestic redevelopment project aimed at restoring the structure to the ancient glories of the Belle Époque. This restyling, led by architect Patrizia Poli, transformed the Grand Hotel into the absolute benchmark for those seeking a 5-star Salsomaggiore hotel capable of blending historical heritage with contemporary luxury. The entrance on Via Roma, the heart of the city, was enhanced; the number of rooms grew exponentially with the addition of the fourth floor; and two swimming pools, a dedicated thermal area, a panoramic solarium, grand halls, meeting rooms, and a large covered parking lot were created.

2017

After five years of meticulous restoration aimed at preserving the palace's historic soul, the property reopened its doors to the public with a new identity. This ambitious project returned the city's most precious jewel to the community, confirming it as the landmark 5-star hotel for tourism in Emilia Romagna.
