During the consultation of our web pages, to facilitate user navigation, links to other sites not under our control (e.g. search engines, linked service providers, etc.) may be hosted on our web pages. It is also possible to access the Website without being required to provide any personal data. However, the IT systems and software responsible for the operation of the Website acquire, during their normal functioning, certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols, through the action of files stored temporarily or permanently on your hard disk (so-called Cookies) and thanks to the use of other software components downloaded or activated during navigation.

Detailed information on the use of cookies and consent to their use

Definitions

Cookies are short text fragments (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (browser) to be reused during the same visit (session cookies) or later, even after days (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, according to user preferences, by each browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone). Similar technologies can be used to collect information on user behaviour and service usage.

In this document, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply using the term “cookies”.

Types of cookies

Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish different categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of our site and are used to manage login and access to reserved functions of the site, and in general to speed up, improve, or personalize the service provided to users. The duration of these cookies is either strictly limited to the working session (they are deleted when the browser is closed), or longer-lasting, intended to recognise the visitor’s computer. Disabling them may compromise the use of services accessible via login, while the public section of the site remains normally usable.
  • Analytics and performance cookies. These cookies are used to collect and analyse site traffic and usage anonymously. Although they do not identify the user, they make it possible, for example, to detect whether the same user returns at different times. They also allow monitoring of the system and improving performance and usability. Disabling these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality.
  • Profiling cookies. These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously or not) user preferences and improve their browsing experience, in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user during web navigation.

Third-party cookies

When visiting a website, cookies may be received both from the visited site (“first-party”) and from sites managed by other organisations (“third-party”). An example is the presence of social plugins (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+) aimed at sharing content on social networks. The presence of these plugins results in the transmission of cookies to and from all third-party managed sites. The management of information collected by “third parties” is governed by their respective privacy notices.

Cookie management

Users may decide whether or not to accept cookies by adjusting their browser settings.

Warning: the total or partial disabling of technical cookies may compromise the use of functionalities reserved for registered users. On the other hand, public content can still be accessed even by completely disabling cookies.

Disabling third-party cookies does not affect navigation in any way. Settings can be defined specifically for different websites and applications. In addition, the best browsers allow you to set different preferences for “first-party” and “third-party” cookies.

For example, with Google Chrome, click the wrench in the top right corner and select “Settings”. Then select “Show advanced settings” and change the Privacy settings.

WHICH COOKIES ARE MANAGED BY THE SITE

Some information, even if not collected to be associated with identified individuals, by its nature could, through processing and association, allow user identification.
This category includes IP addresses of computers used by users connecting to the Site, the URL of requested resources, the time of the request, the size of the file obtained in response, etc.

These data are used to:

1) obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the Site (such as, in particular, the number of accesses), check its correct functioning, speed up, improve, or personalize the service level provided to users, and they are deleted immediately after processing.

2) carry out customer profiling activities for marketing purposes, through the management of third-party cookies.

In both cases, providing such information is optional; refusal to provide said data, blocking cookies or other software components may make it impossible for us to send the requested information and/or may result in incomplete functioning of the site.

The collected data will be processed exclusively by company personnel expressly appointed and will not be disclosed or communicated to third parties.
Data may be used to determine liability in case of hypothetical cybercrimes against the Site or third parties; unless this circumstance occurs, data relating to web contacts are not stored permanently.
